Along with regular exercise, your diet should mostly contain wholesome foods, such as fruit, vegetables, lean proteins, low-fat dairy, and whole grains. Avoid processed, packaged foods as much as possible.
  • Limit Consumption of Alcohol – Consuming alcohol, even small amounts, can raise your chances of having breast cancer at some point in your life. Accordingly, it is best to abstain from alcohol completely. Otherwise, women are encouraged to have no more than one alcoholic beverage per day.

Things to Consider If You Have an Increased Risk of Breast Cancer

Women with a history of breast cancer in their family have an increased risk of experiencing the disease at some point in their lives. If you have a higher-than-normal risk, your doctor will likely encourage you to undergo mammograms more often.
